5 reasons why the Warriors will almost certainly make Klay Thompson take a pay reduction

Basketball star Klay Thompson is nearing his final year of contract.

Thompson is poised to make $43.2 million this season and will seek his final NBA contract.

ESPN's Ramon Shelburne reports that the Warriors and Thompson are considering an extension.

Steph Curry is signed until 2025-26, and Draymond Green has a player option. If Curry retires after that campaign, Green might leave and retire elsewhere.

With their 2022 NBA title, the Warriors proved their dynasty was still going. Golden State won the title due to Steph Curry and team depth.

Having Klay Thompson sign a reduced deal would allow Golden State to create a championship roster.

Many predicted that Draymond Green would depart the Golden State Warriors and sign a max contract in free agency.

Klay Thompson was a top NBA two-way player before damaging his ACL and Achilles tendon.
