Bills QB Josh Allen Shares Blunt Response to Aaron Rodgers’ Injury
After suffering a season-ending injury against the Buffalo Bills on September 11, Josh didn't have much time to ponder about friend-turned-rival Aaron Rodgers.
After being sacked by Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd on his team's first drive of the night, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith was injured.
Though he was able to get to his feet at first, Rodgers returned to the turf as the team's medical staff arrived to tend to him.
Rodgers was replaced by Zach Wilson, who, coupled with an active Jets defense, helped lead the Jets to a 22-16 overtime victory over the Bills.
Rodgers was assisted off the field and escorted to the sideline medical tent before being hauled to the locker room.
The Jets later announced that X-rays were negative, but Rodgers would miss the game.
When asked about his reaction to Rodgers' injury after the game, Allen was brief.
After the game,
a visibly furious Allen blamed himself and the four turnovers he committed — three interceptions and a lost fumble — on himself.
When questioned about his reaction to Rodgers' injury, Allen stated that he needed to concentrate on the game.
"The thought was that we just had to keep playing football," Allen stated at the postgame press conference.
