Colin Kaepernick requests Jets practice squad place.

Seven years after his final NFL game, Colin Kaepernick requested the New York Jets to let him join their practice squad.

The demand was made in a letter that was delivered to Jets general manager Joe Douglas on last Thursday.

On Tuesday, the rapper J. Cole uploaded a copy of the letter to Instagram. After Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1,

the Jets' quarterback position has drawn a lot of attention. Zach Wilson, who served as New York's starter for stretches of the past two seasons,

reclaimed the job. His current completion % places him worst in the NFL.In his letter, Kaepernick, 35,

emphasized that he is not attempting to replace Wilson.Even though I would be honored and deeply grateful for the chance to take over as practice squad leader,

I'm writing to you in the hopes that you can envision a very different strategy involving me.

He wrote, "I know there are depth difficulties at the position right now, and I've heard that the back-up job is probably going to be filled by a seasoned Quarterback.
