Deion Sanders offers direct advise on how top freshmen might gain more playing time.

The Colorado Buffaloes were able to land one of the nation's top defensive recruits, Deion Sanders, before the start of the 2023 season.

Coming out of high school in Florida, Cormani McClain was a five-star talent.

He first committed to Miami before decommitting and joining the Buffaloes once Sanders took over and settled in.

However, with Colorado dealing with the absence of two-way star Travis Hunter, the freshman could have been considered

as an opportunity to receive some playing time, except he is listed as third on the depth chart.

Sanders was questioned about McClain's playing time and what he needed to do to increase it.

McClain has two total tackles this season, one for a loss, in two appearances. Colorado is now 3-1.Coach Prime's response was direct.

"Research and prepare. Attend meetings on time and in person. Recognize what we're doing as a scheme. I'd want to play this game.
