Florida's Graham Mertz shares smooch with Miss Wisconsin girlfriend after massive win over Tennessee

Florida Gators quarterback Graham Mertz led the squad to a 29-16 triumph over No. 11 Tennessee, the school's 10th consecutive home victory in the rivalry series.

Mertz capped the night with a kiss with his girlfriend, Alexis Loomans, who was in attendance at Gainesville's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to witness the victory.

This year, Loomans, the 2023 Miss Wisconsin USA, threw out the first pitch before a Milwaukee Brewers-Pittsburgh Pirates game.

The Wisconsin transfer completed 19 of 24 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown pass to Montrell Johnson Jr. during a 20-point second quarter. Mertz also scored a touchdown on the ground in the same quarter.

"Man, it got loud," Mertz recalled of the stadium's 90,751 attendees. "I was on the sideline and couldn't hear my coach [who was standing in front of me]." It grew loud... They had an impact on the game."

The game concluded with a brawl between players from both teams. Mertz took a knee and then reacted angrily when Volunteers defensive lineman Omari Thomas collided with him.

The benches were subsequently cleared, and Tennessee defensive back Kamal Hadden and Florida lineman Micah Mazzccua squared off.

"That was just the weirdest ending to a game I've ever had," Mertz added. "I'm guessing that's Florida-Tennessee."

Mertz has 692 yards throwing and three touchdowns in three games this season. Florida is 2-1 and will host Charlotte on Saturday.
