Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has signed the largest contract in NFL history,

topping Jalen Hurts' earlier this summer agreement and the earth-shattering deal given to Patrick Mahomes by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Burrow signed a $275.5 million contract to lead the Bengals to the AFC Championship in 2022.

Burrow's future was never in doubt, as it was unlikely he would seek a trade from the team that chose him with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. 

He's worked his way up to becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the world since entering the league.

To put things in perspective, the Bengals were the poorest club in the NFL when Burrow arrived. 

They won only two games in the 2019 regular season, which was tied for the fewest in team history.

Despite promising him $219.5 million, the 26-year-old's new contract does not include the most guaranteed money in NFL history.

That honor still belongs to Cleveland Browns slinger DeShaun Watson, who inked a deal for $250 million in 2022 that is fully guaranteed.
