Sam Heughan, star of Outlander, has revealed his favorite destination in Scotland, and it's right here in Edinburgh.
The Scottish actor, who plays highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the blockbuster time-travel series, has toured his homeland for his Men in Kilts show.
Surprisingly, the 42-year-old chose a visitor attraction right in the heart of Scotland's capital city rather than one of our majestic mountains or glens, or even one of the country's many famous lochs.
In a recent interview, Heughan, who relocated to Edinburgh with his family as a teenager, chose Mary King's Close,
a reportedly haunted close beneath the streets of Edinburgh, as his favorite site in Scotland.
The actor, who attended the city's James Gillespie's High School, described his visit as a "terrifying" experience, adding that he enjoys Edinburgh in general.
He went on to laud Edinburgh, stating, "I just love that city, especially the wynds, the closes off the Royal Mile."
