Packers fans react to Aaron Rodgers' likely trade to Jets
The Green Bay Packers and New York Jets agreed to trade Aaron Rodgers after weeks of negotiations.
Fans of the 39-year-old quarterback and the team had many comments about the deal.
On Monday, April 24, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted that the Packers and Jets have agreed to trade the four-time MVP to New York.
The trade involves a first-round pick swap, second-round pick this year, and a conditional 2024 second-round pick that might be a first.
Many Packers supporters responded on social media.
In a Rodgers trade, Acme Packing Company editor Justis Mosqueda called for the Packers to get the 13th overall pick,
calling it the #13for12 movement. The selection swap gave Mosqueda a win even if the Packers didn't get a first.
Former Packers backup quarterback Kurt Benkert tweeted, “Can’t wait to see the pre game fits this year,” with a Timberland boot photo for Rodgers.
Another fan tweeted, “Going from 15 to 13 might very well be the difference between JSN or no JSN,” alluding to Ohio State wide receiver and likely first-round pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
No Packers fan, Bill Simmons of The Ringer provided a hypothetical Packers-Jets general manager conversation that Packers fans liked.
